There is growing interest in the use of
natural and sustainable products for home building and interior
decorating. We are pleased to offer a product that meets the
demands of these consumers.
The use of natural dyes does not
negatively impact the environment and waterways as chemical dyes
can, nor do they have a harmful effect on our weavers and dyers.
Using natural dyes encourages countries such as Nepal to continue cultivating
indigenous dye plants which helps support local agriculture.
Because we use no chemical dyes, washes,
bleaches or glues, we have a growing clientele of chemically
sensitive customers.

The
Beauty of Natural Dyes
The
complex, vibrant qualities that result from using natural
dyestuffs cannot be duplicated with synthetic dyes. Everyone
responds to the gentle variations and familiarity of colors
that come from natural dyes.
Due to our unique and very involved dye process, the color
saturation we derive is one the most commented on qualities
of our rugs.
We use natural dyes exclusively. Our vegetal dye substances are wild-crafted
in Nepal and India. They include indigo, madder, cutch, walnut and pomegranate.
We only use dyes that are light-fast and wash-fast. |
